It started in the aisle at Staples
The weekend everything changed, I'd lost a close friend, things at home were heavy, and a hurricane was heading for town. I went to Staples for flashlights. Standing in the aisle, I couldn't breathe and couldn't feel my arms or legs. I ended up in the ER, where a doctor told me, "Sir, you're having a panic attack." I'd never had one in my life.
That was the start of a twenty-year journey: doctors, therapy, setbacks and a lot of trial and error.
What finally made a difference wasn't one big answer. It was a set of small daily habits: walking, eating with more care, starting my mornings with reflection, protecting my evenings, helping other people, and keeping a few calm-down tools close for the hard moments.
I built this kit from exactly those habits, so you don't have to spend twenty years figuring it out.
